Mildred Vasquez

Services for Mildred "Corny" Vasquez, 75, of Belton will be held Thursday, May 28th at 1:30 pm at Christ the King Catholic Church in Belton. Burial will follow at North Belton Cemetery.
Corny passed away Saturday, May 23, 2015 after a long, hard and courageous battle with cancer. She was surrounded by her loving family in the comfort of her home.
She was born May 13, 1940 in Belton to Federico and Antonia (Arreguin) Vriseno. She was a lifelong resident of Belton and attended Belton schools. Corny was a very supportive and loving person. She loved everyone unconditionally and was known to drive miles and miles to attend activities and special events for any and every one that was special to her. She loved to watch all kinds of sports, play bingo and most of all she loved to shop. Corny was married to the love of her life, Charlie Vasquez, for 29 years. She supported Charlie in everything he did from his softball league to the activities of the Knights of Columbus, Casino Night was her favorite. Corny loved all sports and was a true and faithful Dallas Cowboys fan. She worked as a seamstress for Superior Chaircraft for years and she was a member of Christ the King Catholic Church.
She is preceded in death by her parents and one sister, Mary Matamoras.
Survivors include her husband, Charlie Vasquez; daughters, Tina Ramirez, Dora Saye, Linda Fuentes, and Melissa Vasquez; sons, Robert Soto III, Johnny Vasquez, Michael Vasquez, and Bobby "B.J." Soto; brothers, Raymond Vriseno, Fred Vriseno and Tony Vriseno; sister, Rosa Vasquez; 21 grandchildren and 6 great-grandchildren; numerous other family members and friends.
The family will receive visitors at Harper-Talasek Funeral Home Chapel from 6:00-8:00 pm with a rosary being recited at 7:00 pm.
