Minnie Davis

July 31, 1944 — November 9, 2017

Minnie Lee Davis passed away peacefully on Thursday, November 09, 2017 at the age of 73. Minnie was born July 31, 1944 in Pilot Point to Cora Lee (Johnson) Blankenship.
Minnie attended school in Belton. She married Robert E. Davis in Belton in 1959. Minnie volunteered as a school nurse and as a Boy Scouts den mother. She was a member of VFW Post 4008 and Free Pentecostal Church of Jesus Christ.
Minnie enjoyed shopping, playing bingo and going on cruises. She also enjoyed watching The Young & The Restless, Wheel of Fortune and Family Feud.
Minnie was a loving wife, mother and grandmother. She loved nothing better than spending time with her family. Minnie was a wonderful cook and her banana pudding was the best. She will be dearly missed by all who loved her.
She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband; a son, Robert Davis; 3 brothers, Jesse Koontz, Wilburn Ragon and Dickey Ragon.
Those left to cherish her memory are two sons, Art Davis and Michael Davis both of Belton; two daughters, Carol (Scott) Leinart of Belton and Cindy (Mark) Brown of College Station; five sisters, Sandra Chamberlain of Grand Prairie, Johnnie Yarbrough of Locus Grove, GA, Mary Young of Sabastian, FL, Faye Weaver of Goldthwaite, and Margie Crocker of Navasota; 10 grandchildren and 27 great-grandchildren.
In lieu of flowers please make donations to American Diabetes Association, 2451 Crystal Drive, Suite 900, Arlington, VA 22202.
Funeral services will be held at 1pm on Monday, November 13, 2017 at Harper-Talasek Funeral Home in Belton. Visitation will be from 6-8pm on Sunday, November 12, 2017 at the funeral home.
