Pedro Rodriguez, age 84, of Belton, passed from this life, Wednesday, July 30th, 2025. Funeral services will be held at 10:30 am Tuesday, August 5th, at Christ the King Catholic Church in Belton. Burial will follow in North Belton Cemetery.
Pedro Rodriguez was born on June 29, 1941, in Laredo, Texas, to Ramiro and Rita Rodriguez. A devoted patriot, he proudly served in the United States Army, completing two tours in Vietnam and assignments in Taiwan, Okinawa, and Germany. After a distinguished military career, he retired from Fort Hood in March 1985. Pedro was a faithful member of Christ the King Catholic Church and remained active in his community through his involvement with VFW Post 10377, American Legion Post 133, the Disabled American Veterans (DAV) Chapter 219, and the National Rifle Association (NRA).
Pedro is preceded by his parents, Ramiro and Rita Rodriguez; daughter, Sylvia Elizabeth Rodriguez; brothers, Ramiro Rodriguez Jr., Ramiro Rodriguez III, and Fernando Rodriguez; and sister, Minerva Gonzalez.
Survivors include his beloved wife, Sylvia Rodriguez; sisters, Dinorah Martinez, Delia Segura, and Alma Villarreal; son, Pedro Rodriguez; daughters, Amelia Gamba, Anna Guerrero, Thelma Reyes, and Lisa Peterson; several grandchildren and great grandchildren; and many nieces and nephews.
The family would like to thank Enhabit Hospice, a very special care giver Jessica Lehto, and her family – for all their love, compassion, and support through this time.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the Ronald McDonald House Charities, the Make A Wish Foundation, or to any charity of your choice.
A time of visitation will be held from 5-7 pm with a Holy Rosary recited at 6 pm Monday, August 4, 2025, at Harper-Talasek Funeral Home in Belton.
