Price Wharton

Price Hugh Wharton 89, of Belton passed away in his home on Monday September 23, 2013. Visitation will be held at Heartfield Funeral Home on Wednesday September 25, 2013 from 68 and a service will be held on Thursday September 26, 2013 at 2:00 at the Heartfield Funeral Home Chapel with burial to follow at the Moffat Cemetery. Pastors Billy Johnson and Justin Childers will be officiating.
Price was born on August 1,1924 to Thomas Covington and Dee Pearl McMahan Wharton near McGregor. He married Bertha Mae Peal on July 1,1945. They had three sons. He retired from the Department of Public Works at Ft. Hood as a supervisor and was also a World War II Navy veteran. Price was a 50 year member of the Belton Masonic Lodge 166 and of the Miller Heights Baptist Church where he served as Deacon for many years.
He was preceded in death by his parents and two sisters, Anna Mae Stokes and Lucille Dukes.
He is survived by his wife of 68 years Bertha sons Price Jr. and wife Patricia Wharton of Irving, TX, Larry and his wife Linda Wharton and Darrell and his wife Rita Wharton both of Belton 4 grandchildren, Larry Wharton Jr, Amy Woods and husband Trey, Traci Collie and husband Jay, Andy Culliu juil wifu KdykiAndy Wharton and wife Kayla 5 greatgrandchildren, Violet Kelley, Malachi Nourse, Elizabeth Nourse, Ethan Collie, and Marielle Collie and several nieces and nephews.
Donations may be made in Prices name to Scott and White Hospice.
