Ray Lewis

Jesse "Ray" Lewis was born in Troy, Texas on February 8, 1933 to the late Theo W. and Leola (Bridges) Lewis. He was surrounded by his family when passed away on Saturday, December 2, 2017 at the age of 84.
Ray lived most of his life in Central Texas and for a short time in Victoria. He was a truck driver for Wilson Art for over 34 years before his retirement. Ray was Pentecostal.
Ray was a loving family man and a hard worker. In his spare time he enjoyed fishing and gambling and he especially loved spending time with his family. He will be dearly missed by all who loved him.
He was preceded in death by a son, Steve Lewis and a daughter, Debra Lewis.
Those left to cherish his memory are his wife, Troy Smitherman; sons, Ricky Lewis, Mark Lewis and Kevin Lewis; 8 beloved grandchildren and 13 precious great-grandchildren. He also leaves behind his faithful dog, Gidget.
A memorial service for Ray will be held at 10am on Saturday, December 9, 2017 at Harper-Talasek Funeral Home in Belton with Pastor Verner Robison officiating.
