Rhonda Sue
Davis
September 10, 1966 — July 5, 2026
Rhonda Davis, 59, most recently of Kingsland, Texas, passed away peacefully on July 5, 2026. Born and raised in Long Beach, California, Rhonda carried her adventurous spirit and creative energy wherever life took her.
Rhonda was born on September 10, 1966, in Los Angeles, California, to Judy Ann Frankforter and Ronald Hoyt Randall. She was an identical twin to her sister, Chase, and shared a lifelong bond with her family. Rhonda married Shane Davis, and although they later divorced, she proudly continued to carry the Davis name.
A lifelong student of the arts, Rhonda trained under private dance mentors before furthering her education in painting and dance at Pasadena City College. She also earned a degree in Liberal Arts. Her passion for movement and creativity became the foundation of a remarkable and unconventional career. Rhonda worked as an independent dance instructor, teaching ballroom, swing, jive, and wedding dance lessons. She was a devoted enthusiast of classic Burlesque, both performing and producing events that celebrated the art form. She also worked as an art model for universities and independent artists while pursuing painting as a personal creative outlet.
Dance was one of Rhonda's greatest loves. Beginning at an early age, she devoted herself to the craft and, by her twenties, was competing in dance competitions while sharing her talents by teaching. Whether in a ballroom, on stage, or choreographing a couple’s first dance, Rhonda believed dance had the power to connect people and create lasting memories.
Rhonda's creativity extended well beyond the stage. As an entertainment writer, she interviewed musicians, performers, and artists for her independent blogs and was featured through various entertainment magazines, radio interviews, podcasts, and other media outlets. She was also the creator and host of the award-winning podcast The Frankie Files, a survivor-led cult recovery podcast that aired weekly from 2022 through 2025. Through
honest conversations and fearless storytelling, she created a supportive community that gave countless listeners hope, validation, and encouragement.
A passionate advocate for classic burlesque, Rhonda documented Portland's vibrant burlesque community while producing multidisciplinary showcases featuring live music, comedy, and burlesque performances. She treasured the friendships she built within the creative community and was deeply grateful for the encouragement she received from fellow artists, club owners, and supporters who shared her vision.
Rhonda embraced adventure and found joy in exploring the world. During a solo journey through Europe, including Ireland, she delighted in being mistaken for an Irish native and often spoke of how at home she felt there. She was also an avid cyclist who, in recent years, developed a deep appreciation for nature and birdwatching, finding peace and beauty in the outdoors.
Rhonda will be remembered for her sharp sense of humor, unmistakable wit, generous heart, fearless authenticity, and unwavering commitment to living life on her own terms. She leaves behind a legacy of creativity, resilience, and compassion that touched people from every walk of life.
Rhonda was preceded in death by her father, Ronald Hoyt Randall.
She is survived by her mother, Judy Ann Frankforter; her identical twin sister, Chase Lynn Frank; her sister, Shawn Michelle Young; her nephew, Christian Jordan Young and his wife, Krystle Anastasia Poetiray Young; her beloved great-niece, Kyara Lychelle Young; along with many dear friends, fellow artists, dancers, and members of the creative community who will forever cherish her memory.
The family would like to express their heartfelt gratitude to the staff of Baylor Scott & White Medical Center ICU in Temple, Our Hospice House in Belton, Suncrest Hospice, and Taylor and the staff of Harper-Talasek Funeral Home in Belton for the compassionate care and kindness shown to Rhonda and her loved ones during her final days. The kindness of strangers will never be forgotten.
In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to Our Hospice House, 5235 Tollbridge Road, Belton, Texas 76513, in appreciation of the dignity, comfort, and compassionate care they provided.
An Irish-style wake celebrating Rhonda's life will be held in Austin, Texas, on July 19, 2026, hosted by her family.
