Richard (Scott) Jimmerson of Harker Heights passed away at age 52 on August 9, 2020 in New Braunfels, Texas, doing what he loved most: having fun with family and friends. Scott was born on August 6, 1968 in Dallas, Texas to Jimmie and Jim Jimmerson. He graduated from Killeen High School and earned his bachelor’s degree from Friends University in Wichita, Kansas.
It was in Wichita where he met and married Debbie, and became a stepfather to Amy and David. Debbie and Scott had a son, Jacob, and were married for more than 20 years.
Scott’s career was mostly doing accounting work in various roles, and he most recently served as CFO of Aviam.
Scott was a tremendous sports enthusiast, and was a Dallas Cowboys and Stars fan. He enjoyed hiking and being outdoors, and was most happy when spending time with family and friends.
Scott’s mother Jimmie passed away just hours after he did. He is survived by his brother Steve, his father Jim and stepmother Beverly, as well as children Jacob Jimmerson, David Poland, Amy Nichols and grandchildren Anna, Erica and Daniel Poland, and Peyton, Elana and Clara Nichols.
While Scott’s sudden and unexpected passing leaves a hole in the lives of the friends and family who loved him, his fun-loving spirit and generosity leave a legacy that encourages us to make the most of every day we have together.
A memorial service will be held for Scott and his mother Jimmie at 3 pm Friday, Aug. 14, 2020 at Harper-Talasek Funeral Home in Belton, Texas.
