Services for Robert R. Ellett, 92, of Belton will be at 2:00 pm Friday at Greenleaf Cemetery in Brownwood with Bryan Hall officiating.
Robert was born on November 1, 1921 at Personville to the late William Horace and Leona Mae Harrington Ellett. He married Ruth Kelley on June 2, 1940 at Bell Plains Baptist Church. In 1941 he helped build the Brownwood Cattle Auction. He went into the US Army in 1944 and served until being honorably discharged in November 1945. He then worked for Safeway Stores in 1950 and worked his way up from a food clerk to the manager in three years. He worked at stores in San Angelo, Breckenridge, Fort Worth and back to Brownwood and after 13 years went to work for himself buying livestock and then finished his time in construction retiring in 1983.
Mr. Ellett passed away March 3, 2014 at the Olin E. Teague Veterans Administrations Hospice Care Unit.
He is preceded in death by his wife Ruth, a daughter, Carolyn Ellett, a brother, Lester Ellett, and two sons in law, Rofol Loubriel and Jack French.
Survivors include his three daughters, Barbara Loubriel of Belton, Rebecca French of Dayton, Leslie Pierce of Belton two sisters, Shirley and Bill Cobb, Faye McIntyre one brother, Zane Ellett five grandchildren and six great grandchildren.
