Long-time Leander resident, Ronald Lynn Stroud, born September 29, 1961, passed away on April 24, 2026, after a lengthy battle with MS.
Ron is survived by his sister and brother-in-law, Sandra and Jim Nodler of Bastrop, his niece and her husband, Morgan and Chris Nutt of Bastrop, his nephew Quentin Nodler of Austin, long time best friends Rinn and Leslie Harper of Leander, as well as many loved, extended family members and several former high school friends.
He is preceded in death by his parents, Fred W. and Betty Stroud, paternal grandparents, Fred and Etta Stroud, and maternal grandparents, C.J. and Louise Spence.
Ron graduated from the University of Texas in 1989, with a degree in history. He had a lifelong interest in art and art history and considered viewing the Sistine Chapel in Italy a highlight of his travels. He loved dachshunds, especially his last companion, Duke; Blue Dog artwork by George Rodrigue; chatting with his sister every Sunday; having lunch as often as possible with his best friend; and getting together with his high school friends.
Ron’s family invites friends to join them for a visitation on Friday, May 1, 2026, at 12:00PM, at Harper Talasek Funeral Home in Belton, Texas. Following the visitation, a funeral service will begin at 1:00PM. Ron will be laid to rest at North Belton Cemetery, in Belton, Texas.
