Ronald Harbin, Ronny, Roberts, age 73, passed away at his Belton home on Thursday, November 27, 2014, with family by his side. As a child of God, he has gone to be with our Heavenly Father.
Funeral services will be held at 10 a.m., Tuesday, December 2, at HarperTalasek Funeral Home formerly Heartfield in Belton, Texas with Rev. Stephen Vaughn officiating. A visitation will be held Monday, December 1, 68 p.m.
Born January 14, 1941, in Belton, Texas, to Winnie and Claude Roberts he was their second child and oldest son. He graduated from Belton High School and honorably served from 19591963 in the U.S. Navy. During his time in the Navy, he served on the U.S.S. Ranger and U.S.S. Constellation. Notably, he was a plank holder of the U.S.S. Constellation and was awarded many medals including 2 medals of Good Conduct for his time in service. Ronny retired from Transit Mix after working his way from a driver to plant manager. Not only was he dedicated to his work for the 37 years there, he also enjoyed it. After retirement he continued in the industry by driving for Belcrete Readymix.
Ronny will be especially remembered as a faithful and active member of Elm Grove Baptist Church where he served as a Deacon, including serving as the most recent Chairman of the Deacons, Pastor Search Committee Chairman, Building Committee, and Mens Sunday School teacher.
Survivors include his wife of 50 years, Betty Boales Roberts three daughters: Tamara Rodriguez, married to Louis Rodriguez, Roberta Kimble, and husband Jerry Kimble, and Shirley Moore, married to Bobby Moore 7 Grandchildren: Louis Rodriguez and wife Tiffany Wolf Rodriguez, Megan White and husband Clint White, Amanda Roberts, Olivia Lopez, A.J. Lopez, Bobby Moore, Sharde Taplin, and Milton Moore 17 GreatGrandchildren 3 brothers: Dwight Roberts, Gerald Roberts, and Steve Roberts 1 Sister: Shirley Holleman and many nieces, nephews, and loved ones.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Winnie and Claude Roberts, and youngest brother, Randall Roberts.
