Ronald “Ronnie” Lee Tyler, age 62 of Belton, passed away Sunday, June 13, 2021 at Baylor Scott and White Medical Center in Temple. Services will be held at 10 am Thursday, June 17, 2021 at Harper-Talasek Funeral Home in Belton with his father, Lee Roy Tyler, officiating. Burial will follow at Reed’s Lake Cemetery.
Ronnie was born October 16, 1958 to Lee Roy and Joyce Tyler in Odessa, Texas. He was a graduate of Belton High School, and spent his entire career working as a dry cleaner with the Pittman family in Temple and Belton. He was an avid race fan and particularly enjoyed NASCAR and dirt track racing. He could often be found working on cars or doing other projects around the house, and he most enjoyed spending quality time with his family and friends.
Ronnie was preceded in death by his mother, Joyce Tyler; and his brother, Daniel Tyler.
He is survived by his father, Lee Roy Tyler; brother, Eddie Tyler and wife, Jerri of Belton; brother, Lannie Smith and wife, Debbie of Lafayette, Indiana; sister, Joy Tyler of Corpus Christi; daughter, Melissa “Missy” Ellison and husband, Richard Cass Ellison of Belton; many nieces and nephews; and his biggest pride and joy, granddaughter, Melodi Marie Ellison.
Pallbearers will be Bart Irons, Mark Lewis, Ricky Lewis, Mike Sheppard, and David Shuttlesworth.
A time of visitation will be held from 5-7 pm Wednesday, June 16, 2021 at the funeral home.
