Samuel Brian Cowan was born May 25, 1977 in Irving, Texas to Bruce Allen and Judith Pageler Cowan. He was surrounded by his loving family when he passed away on Saturday, February 24, 2018.
Sam was raised in Temple and graduated from Temple High School in 1995. Sam had an adventurous spirit and loved to spend time outdoors. He enjoyed collecting rocks, hunting and fishing, camping, rock climbing, gardening, and just being outside. Sam loved to take pictures of his adventures and share them with his family and friends.
Sam worked as a cell phone tower technician. His job allowed him to travel all over the United States and even to Puerto Rico. Sam was very passionate about his work and was one of only three people in the United States to be certified as a Tower Climbing Safety and Rescue Specialist.
Sam will be remembered as a loving son, father, brother, uncle and friend to many. He had a generous soul and helped those in need whenever he could. Sam's final act of kindness was to give the gift of life through organ donation.
Sam was preceded in death by an infant son, Samuel B. Cowan, Jr. in 1995.
Those left to cherish his memory are his parents, Bruce and Judith Cowan of Temple; his son, Aaron Cowan of Temple; his sister, Meaghan Tomastik and her husband Brad of Little-River Academy; grandparents, Gwainne Peterson of Wolfe City and Wayne Pageler of Clearwater, Fl; nieces, Olivia Badgett of Belton and Sarah Cowan of Temple; aunt Linda Williams of Ladson, SC and many loving family members and friends.

Funeral services for Sam will be held at 10am on Saturday, March 3, 2018 at Harper-Talasek Funeral Home in Belton. The family will receive visitors from 6-8 pm on Friday, March 2, 2018 at the funeral home.
