Sheila Stachura

February 21, 1947 — January 10, 2019

Sheila H. Stachura, 71, of Belton, passed from this life on Thursday, January 10, 2019, at a local nursing facility. Sheila was born in Cranfield, England on February 21, 1947 to Thomas and Kathleen Behan.

Sheila was born in small village north of London, Cranfield, which is situated half way between Cambridge and Oxford and raised in Marston Morteyne, England. She lived a nice and simple life with her parents and 5 siblings, until she met a charming United States Airforce Airman by the name of Edward Stachura Jr. They were a match made in heaven and they were married in Bedford, England. After 54 years of marriage their bond still remained as strong as ever. She loved the life as a military spouse. Traveling the globe and living in many different places suited her just fine. They lived in such places as the Philippines, Greece, and Southern Italy just to name a few. Living all over the world gave her the chance to travel extensively. Edward was also stationed in England a couple of different times. Sheila particularly cherished her time raising her family and living near home. After Edward's retirement they settled in San Angelo. It was there that Mrs. Stachura cultivated her passion for caring for children in need. She became a children's social worker for the United Way. Sheila was a member of the Daughters of The British Empire San Angelo, TX chapter. Mrs. Stachura will be fondly remembered as a lovely and sweet woman who was always teaching and nurturing. She had a huge heart who was always caring for those in need. Sheila was a wonderful mother who was always there for her beloved family. Her sense of humor and her ability to always brighten a room will never be forgotten by those who loved her. Her greatest treasure in life was her family and she loved them dearly. Sheila will be greatly missed by all those who knew and loved her.

Mrs. Stachura's family would like to extend a special thanks to all the wonderful nurses and other staff members of Senior Care of Marlandwood East and Interim Care Hospice. The last several years have been made much easier with their help and superior care.

She is preceded in death by her parents, a brother, Anthony Behan; and a sister-in-law, Cynthia Stachura Watson, with whom she shared a special bond.

Those left to honor and cherish her memory are her beloved husband, Edward Stachura; daughter, Kerry Aguillon and husband, Ruben; son, John Stachura and Kathy Jungerman; brothers, John Behan and wife, Carolyn, Adrian Behan; sisters, Lorna Allen and husband, Stuart, Jackie Berry; grandchildren, Justen Aguillon, Alane Villanueva and husband, Ricky, Zachury Stachura, Daniel Jungerman; great-granddaughter, Jules Aguillon; and numerous nieces and nephews.

Private family services will be held at a later date at Central Texas Veterans Cemetery in Killeen.
