Tomas Castillo was born in Mier y Noriega, Nuevo Leon, Mexico on October 13, 1926 the son of Calletano and Damiana (Estrada) Castillo. He passed away at the age of 90, in Temple, Texas on Monday, May 22, 2017. Tomas was a hard worker all of his life. He considered his work to be hobbies as he loved farming and ranching and also enjoyed working in construction. He was a dedicated family man and made sure his family was always taken care of.
Tomas married Juliana Vasquez in 1951, they were married for 62 years before she preceded him in death in 2013. Tomas was a loving husband, father and grandfather. He loved to spend time with his family, especially his grandchildren. He enjoyed making them laugh and giving them all special nicknames. Tomas was a Christian man who loved the Lord. He liked to visit different churches where his family members attended. His tireless work ethic, kindness and love for his family has surely molded a legacy that he can be proud of.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Juliana Castillo; a daughter, Cristina Castillo and a son, Jose Guadalupe Castillo.
Survivors include his sons, Evaristo Castillo, Rosalio Castillo, Apolonio Castillo, Antonio Castillo and Rodolfo Castillo; daughters, Antonia Castillo, Perfecta Castillo and Gabina Castillo; 27 beloved grandchildren and 34 great-grandchildren.
Funeral services for Tomas will be held at 10 am on Thursday, May 25, 2017 at Harper-Talasek Funeral Home Chapel in Belton with Rev. Demetrio Salazar and Rev. Antonio Martinez officiating. Burial will follow at North Belton Cemetery.
A time of visitation will be held from 6-8pm on Wednesday, May 24, 2017 at the funeral home.
