Tommy Clyde Bevers, 90, of Salado, died Wednesday, November 21 in a local hospital. Services will be held at First Baptist Church in Salado with Dr. Travis Burleson officiating. Burial will follow at Salado Cemetery.
Mr. Bevers was born on August 22, 1928 in Floydada, Texas to Charles Spencer Bevers and Georgia Bathus Baker Barnett. He was a Korean Veteran. He was married to the love of his life, Thelma, for 52 years. He had been a resident of Salado for 20 years. He began his career in the oilfield working as a Roustabout near Odessa, Texas and retired as a Production Superintendent. In retirement, he built beautiful furniture known as Wooden Classics.
Survivors include brother, Billy Bevers, Sr. of Lubbock; one daughter and two sons, Katie Nichols of Alamogordo, NM, Bruce Bevers (Katye) of Pelham, AL and Steve Bevers (Sharon) of Prosper, TX; seven grandchildren - Jess, Charles, Daniel, Kenneth, Aaron, Greg and Matt; eleven great grandchildren; one nephew, Billy Jr Bevers; one niece, Charlene Jones; and two great nephews.

Visitation will be from 5-7 pm Tuesday, November 27 at Harper-Talasek Funeral Home Chapel in Belton.
