Tommy Jeff Gober Sr., 84, of Moody passed from this life peacefully, on Wednesday, October 19, 2016, surrounded by his loved ones. Tommy was born February 8, 1932 in Lawrence, OK to James Madison Gober Sr. and Lena Dell (Hicks) Gober.

Tommy was a hardworking man. From 1952 until he retired in 1995 he worked construction. He worked 28 years for Odell Geer Construction of Belton. Whether it was work or pleasure, he took pride in everything he built. With his skills, he provided 3 homes for his family and a shop for himself.
He loved listening to bluegrass and country music while in the shop doing wood working or driving to and from work in "Old Yeller", his beloved pickup of more than 31 years. His favorites were the great George Jones and Alan Jackson. When he did take a break to relax, he loved going fishing and spending time with friends and family.
Tommy was a sergeant in the United States Marine Corps. He served his country bravely in Korea and then he spent numerous years in the reserves. Above all in life Tommy loved his family. He was a beloved husband, father, grandfather, great-grandfather, great-great grandfather, brother, uncle and friend. He will be deeply missed by all those who knew and loved him.

Tommy is preceded in death by his parents; brothers, James Madison Gober Jr., Billy Joe Gober Sr, Harold Dean Gober; sisters, Ernestine Boggio, Loveta Dell Sharp, and Elizabeth Sparks.

Those left to honor and cherish his memory are his beloved wife of 64 years, Pearl Alice Gober; son, Tommy J. Gober Jr.; daughter, Tina D. Henson; grandchildren, Kristi Dawn Eck, Bryan Thomas Gober, Carrie Ann Riddell, Chelsea Donice Henson; great-grandchildren, Kori Dawnielle Sanders, Brenden Lee Lisenko, Brent Wayne Irwin, Tyler James Riddell, Colton James Gober, Peyton Belle Riddell; great-great grandson, Noah James Sanders; one sister, Wanda Stewart of Midland.

The funeral service will be held on Tuesday, October 25, 2016 at 3 PM at Harper-Talasek Funeral Home Chapel of Belton, 503 North Main Street. A time of fellowship and visitation will take place Monday, October 24, 2016 from 6-8 PM in the chapel.
