Toshiko Drake

Toshiko Emily Drake, born May 5th 1932, died at Indian Oaks Nursing Home January 22, 2015.
Mrs. Drake became naturalized citizen of the United States in 1959, and moved to Harker Heights with her husband in 1972. Mrs. Drake converted from Budhism to Christianity and was baptized as a Believer in Christ at the 1st Baptist Church of Copperas Cove. She was a long time member of the 1st Baptist Church of Harker Heights, where she taught Japanese Sunday School for Japanese exchange students. She completed her General High School Equivalency education at Central Texas College in 1982.
Mrs. Drake was a member of the Japanese Christian Fellowship of Central Texas, and the Japanese Women's Club of Killeen. As a licensed Japanese folk dance instructor, she taught Japanese dancing and participated in many cultural activities.
She is survived by her husband, SFC, Ret. Verald A. Drake of Harker Heights and a brother and sister in Japan.
A Memorial Service will be held 10 am, February 6th, at 1st Baptist Church Harker Heights.
