Tracy Dawn Cox

Tracy Dawn Cox, age 63 of Nolanville, passed from this life Saturday, July 20, 2024. Services will be held Thursday, August 1, 2024, at Harper-Talasek Funeral Home in Belton with a visitation starting at 10 am and funeral immediately following at 12 pm noon. Burial will follow at Central Texas State Veterans Cemetery in Killeen at 1 pm.

Tracy was born on June 28, 1961, to Melba and Felix Thompson in Aurora, Illinois. She received her bachelor’s degree in psychology and was an instructor at the same institute she graduated from for over a decade. She truly enjoyed teaching. After leaving AMI, she became a caregiver for several mentally challenged people. She was always happy providing care for people. Tracy loved lighthouses and gardening. She had a green thumb and could make anything grow. She was an amazing wife, mother, grandmother, and friend. Family was always the most important part of her life. She was a very dedicated Christian, and tried to live selfless, always putting others first. She will be greatly missed by all those who knew and loved her.

Tracy is preceded by her parents, Melba Lewis, Felix Thompson, and Everett Lewis; and husband, Michael Conley.

Survivors include her husband, James Cox; sons, Michael Conley, and James T. Cox; daughters, Andrea Cox, and Christie Conley; brothers, Steve Thompson, Byron Thompson, Louie Thompson, Tim Thompson, and Andy Lewis; sister, Suzie Lewis; and 3 grandchildren, Renee Prim, Arthur Cox, and Abigail Cox.
