Velma Phillips

Velma Phillips age 68, began her new life with the Lord on September 22, 2014.
She was born on December 6, 1945 to Bert and Della Askew and raised in Houston Texas. She graduated from Stephen F. Austin High School.
Velma married in 1966 to Wayne Phillips and was happily married for 48 years.
She enjoyed holidays, spending time with family, and attending a weekly coffee group. She had a passion for bowling and has been on the Lucky Lady bowling team for more than 20 years bowling at Hallmark Bowling Lanes in Killeen, Texas for the Little Vegas League.
Velma was coowner of Salado Rock Company in which she and husband Wayne established in 1994.
Velma had a kind, gentle nature about her. She will be greatly missed by all who knew her.
Velma is preceded in death by her parents Bert and Della Askew, and twin sister Thelma Pate.
She is survived by husband Wayne Phillips, sons Daniel Phillips and Johnathan Phillips sister Sharon Anderle, along with loving nieces, nephews and other family members.
A Memorial Service will be held at Heartfield Funeral Home 503 N. Main St. Belton, TX on Thursday October 2 at 1:00pm. A reception for family and friends will follow at Schoepfs Old Time Pit BBQ, 702 E. Central Ave. Belton.
