Virginia Crutchfield Bailey passed away at her home at the Meridian in Temple on June 4. Graveside services will be at 11:00 AM Tuesday at Bellwood Memorial Park.
She was born at home in Sherman, Texas on November 18, 1919, the daughter of Edward and Nancy Crutchfield. Virginia attended Texas State College for Women TWU. On July 15, 1945 she married John William Bailey, a union that lasted 51 years until his death in 1996.
She is predeceased by her husband and two sisters, Nancy Crutchfield and Tootie Wrenn. She is survived by three children and their spouses, Dick Donna Bailey of Durango, Colorado, Nancy Joe Williams of Houston, and Brian Theresa Bailey of Marlin, three grandchildren, Miranda Clint Wagner, Curtis Stephanie Bailey and Nina Matt Guerre, and three great grandchildren.
A homemaker, Virginia was devoted to her family, her church and service to her community.
Her family wishes to thank Anna Williams, Cassandra Lewis, and Annabella Farrow, and the rest of her second family at the Meridian, who always treated her with respect and kindness.
In lieu of flowers, Virginias family suggests contributions to Morgans Point Volunteer Fire Department.
