Virginia Berry

Georgia Virginia Berry, age 97 of Morgan’s Point Resort, passed from this life Sunday, April 2, 2023, in Pflugerville. Funeral services will be held at 11 am Thursday, April 13, 2023, at Harper-Talasek Funeral Home in Belton. Burial will be in Central Texas State Veterans Cemetery in Killeen.

Virginia was born on February 1, 1926, to James William and Johnnie Ethel Palmer in Seattle, Texas. She met the love of her life, James Berry, while living in California during WWII. Virginia loved working with people. Over the years, she worked at drug stores, Safeway, Dillard’s, and sold Avon. She loved reading, working in the yard, and most of all, spending time with her family. She was a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints. She will be greatly missed by all those who knew and loved her.

Virginia is preceded in death by her parents; husband, James William Berry, Sr.; son, James William Berry, Jr.; brothers, Joe Palmer, James “Sonny” Palmer; and sister, Juanita “Nita” Patton.

Survivors include daughters, Juanita Sue Current Olvera of Aztec, New Mexico, and DeAndra Dawn Peeples of Round Rock, Texas; 9 grandchildren, Leah Tarrant, Jason Current, Brice Current, Jessica Current, Steve Berry, Paul Berry, Robert Berry, Crystal Gilani, and Tyler Dossey; 24 great grandchildren; and 2 great great grandchildren.

A time of visitation will be held from 5-7 pm Wednesday, April 12, 2023, at the funeral home.
