Walter Morris

Walter Morris, 64, of Belton passed away on August 6, 2015 at a local hospital. He was born August 20, 1950 in Athens, Texas to Travis John & Thelma (Cowen) Morris. Walter lived most of his life in Texas and also lived in California for a while. He was a hard worker and held many different jobs from trimming trees, riding and breaking horses, to drilling steam wells and most recently he was a Roughneck for Buck Shot Drilling in Salado. Walter loved to tinker, he could fix anything and everything. In his spare time he loved to fish and spend time with his family.
He was preceded in death by his parents; 4 brothers, Doyle, Jerry, Dave and Victor; and 2 sisters, Dena Morris and Beverly Morris.
Survivors include 2 sons, Walter Scott Morris of Texas and Calvin Paul Morris of California; a daughter, Patricia Ann Morris of California; 5 brothers, Ted Morris of Salado, Travis Morris of Oklahoma, Wilburn Morris and Tug Morris both of Belton and John Morris of Washington; 2 sisters, Linda VanWinkle of Moffat and Odessa Sherwood of Belton. He is also survived by 6 grandchildren and 1 great-grandchild and many loving family members and friends.
