Wayne Ward

Funeral services for Jerry Wayne Ward, 66, of Belton will be held at 10:00 am on Thursday, September 1, 2016 at Harper-Talasek Funeral Chapel in Belton. Burial will follow at Live Oak Cemetery in Youngsport.
Mr. Ward Passed away Monday, August, 29, 2016 at this home.
Wayne was born in Belton on July 25, 1950 to the late Frankie James and Cynthia Estelle (Ivey) Ward. He was raised in Belton and attended Belton schools. He worked for the Bell County Road and Bridge Department for 17 years before his retirement. Wayne spent most of his time doing what he loved most, living the life of a cowboy and ranch hand. He enjoyed riding and taking care of horses and especially loved to pull his horse drawn wagons in the local parades. Wayne married Mary Vick on November 6, 1987 in Belton. She preceded him in death in 2012.
Survivors include 3 sons, Russel Ward and Jamie Ward both of Youngsport and Jimmy Don Love of Belton; a daughter, Donna Marie Love of Temple; 5 sisters, Ruby Wright, Willie Bounds, Sue LaRocque, and Betty Taylor all of Belton and Joyce Catherine Johnson of Waco; and 5 grandchildren, Cody Wayne Ward, Shawnia Ward, Jimmy Wayne Smith, Lena Peacock and Jack Melancon.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Mary Ward; his parents; and 3 brothers, Bobby Ward, Billy Ward and Lynn Ward.
Visitation will be held from 6-8 pm on Wednesday, August, 31, 2016 at the funeral home.
