Wilhelmenia Friedrich, 94, of Salado passed away on Sunday, September 22, 2013 at a care facility in Bartlett. Visitation will be held on Thursday, September 26, 2013 from 5:00 until 7:00 PM at Heartfield Funeral Home in Belton. A service will be held on Friday, September 27, 2013 at 1:00 PM in the Heartfield Chapel. Burial will follow at North Belton Cemetery.
Wilhelmenia was born November 22, 1918 to William J. and Lizzie J. Kolls Carsten in Belton, Texas. She graduated from Salado High School in 1936 at the old red school house. Wilhelmenia married Egon L. Friedrich on December 21, 1939 at St. Johns Lutheran Church in Bartlett.
She was a homemaker and enjoyed quilting and needlework. She was a lifelong resident of Central Texas. A long time founding member of the Salado Ladies Auxiliary, St. Johns Lutheran Ladies Auxiliary and the Salado Art Fair and for many years she would make a quilt for a raffle. She and Egon were also members of the Village Artists in Salado and the Temple Camera Club. She enjoyed traveling the countryside with Egon taking pictures of flowers, old buildings and sunsets.
She was preceded in death by her husband Egon her parents and a sister, Josephine Cunningham.
Wilhelmenia is survived by her son William Friedrich wife Susan of Austin grandson John Carsten Friedrich of College Station stepgrandsons Keith Burba wife Taylor family of Houston Robert Burba fiance Desiree Abbott of Houston stepgranddaughter Katie Stephens husband Michael of Coppell brotherinlaw Melvin Friedrich of Salado niece Linda Cawthon husband Joe of Salado and nephew David Friedrich wife Ann of Salado.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be given to St. Johns Lutheran Church, 30650 State Highway 95, Bartlett, TX 76511.
