William Cardwell

July 31, 1933 — October 27, 2013

William Coy Cardwell passed away peacefully at his home on Sunday, October 27, 2013 at the age of 80 with his family surrounding him.

Graveside services will be held on Thursday, October 31, 2013 at 10:00 am in the Bellwood Memorial Park in Temple.

Bill was born on July 31, 1933, to George and Eva Cardwell of Oneonta, Blount County, Alabama. He faithfully served his country for 24 years in the United States Army with several tours of duty in Korea, Vietnam and peacetime Germany. He honorably retired as a highly decorated Master Sergeant. He enjoyed various hobbies working with his hands, collecting antiques, helping others and spending time with his close family and friends.

He is lovingly remembered by his wife, Vivian of 54 years and their four children and spouses, Craig and Jamie Cardwell of Rockwall, Texas Liesel and Michael Patterson of Flower Mound, Texas Tim and Lori Cardwell of Spring Branch, Texas, and Patty and Brad Partridge of Flower Mound, Texas, loving nieces, nephews, 8 grandchildren and 3 great grandchildren.

The family will receive visitors on Wednesday, October 30, 2013 from 68 pm at Heartfield Funeral Home in Belton.

In lieu of flowers please make donations to the Veterans of Foreign Wars or the American Diabetes Association as requested by the family.

The family wishes to extend their sincere appreciation to Girling Hospice for their support during his final days.
