William Robert "Papa" Davis

William Robert “Papa” Davis went to be with the Lord on Friday, June 21, 2024, at the age of 63. Funeral services will be held at 2 pm Tuesday, July 9, 2024. Burial will follow in North Belton Cemetery.

Born in Pontiac, Michigan, on July 30, 1960, William resided in Troy, Texas, with his son-in-law, daughter, and grandsons. William served our country in the Army for four years, exemplifying his dedication and love for his nation. As a son, brother, uncle, and grandfather, William cherished his family deeply. After retirement, he spent a great deal of time with his grandchildren and family, ensuring they felt his boundless love. William enjoyed playing Liverpool with everyone, always presenting a formidable challenge. His passion for rock music remained strong throughout his life. He took pride in collecting cars and motorcycles and was a devoted Detroit Lions fan. Most importantly, William loved fiercely, worked diligently, and fought tirelessly for those he cherished.

William is preceded in death by his father, William Ralph Davis, mother, Shirley Jean Davis, uncle, Homer Wayne Davis, memaw, Dolly Faye Davis, and his eldest son, James Albert Davis.

He is survived by his brother, Glenn Davis, sisters, Denise Davis and Cheryl Davis, son, Eric Wayne Davis, daughter, Shatona Jean Davis, son-in-law, Darren Amador, his grandsons, Gabriel Aaron Davis, Jacob Dillon Amador, and Isaiah Matthew Amador, nephew Matthew Weller and nieces Jaime Anderson, Patty Weller, and Teri Nunno, great nephew James Weller and AAdam Anderson, great nieces Tara McPherson Makynzie Weller, and Lilliana Harned.

A time of visitation will be held from 5-7 pm Monday, July 8, 2024, at the funeral home.
