William Lagrone

Services for William R. Sonny Lagrone, 84, of Temple, are scheduled for 2:00 pm Saturday, May 3, 2014, at Heartfield Funeral Home with Darrell Knight officiating. Interment will follow at North Belton Cemetery.

Sonny was born on December 1, 1929 at Holland, Texas to the late William L. and Opal F. Foster Lagrone. He spent most of his life in Bell and Coryell Counties. He worked as a maintenance supervisor at Fort Hood and retired after 33 years in October 1982. He married Margie Doss on January 2, 1947 and she preceded him in death on June 21, 1995. He then married Shirley Holland on June 20, 2011. He was a member of the Northside Church of Christ.

Mr. Lagrone died Thursday morning at his home in Temple.

Survivors include his wife, Shirley Lagrone of Temple a son and daughter in law, Bill L. and Billie Lagrone of Temple two daughters and son in laws, Sandra E. and Dave Miller, Mona F. and Randy Lewis both of Temple a stepdaughter, Sheila and Mike Windham of Buffalo 10 grandchildren 17 great grandchildren and 1 great greatgrandchild.

The family will receive friends from 6 8 pm Friday evening at Heartfield Funeral Home in Belton.
