Arthur Wallace

April 25, 1930 — March 20, 2020

Belton

Arthur Allen Wallace was born April 25,1930 on Old Waco Rd. in Belton, TX on the Smith Farm to W.C. (Windy) Wallace and Pearl Lorraine Hooks Wallace (Bill). Arthur passed away peacefully on March 20, 2020 at his home in Belton.

Mr. Wallace’s family moved to Holland, Texas where he would attend grade school. He and his brother, Kenneth Wallace known as Dude, would ride their mule to school and back. The family moved back to Belton where Arthur attended Belton High School. He played football for the Belton Tigers. He also began dating Patsy Heartfield. Her father, Mr. Edmond Heartfield noticed Arthur to be a hard worker which he liked and appreciated so he offered him a job at Heartfield Funeral Home and Florist. Mr. Heartfield became his mentor. He graduated from Belton High School and joined the 41st Army Infantry Battalion at Ft. Hood in 1948 and later served In the National Guard. In 1950 Patsy and Arthur were married on March 11th. They were married for sixty years.

Arthur was a licensed funeral director. He worked at the funeral and florist and later became an owner. He retired after forty years.

He was an avid fisherman and hunter. He loved his family and friends. It seemed everywhere he went in town Arthur was greeted by someone he knew. Many times, he was stopped by someone so they could share a story of how he had helped their friend or family member through a tough time. He loved children. He was a true servant and always quick to lend a helping hand. He was a kid at heart with examples such as dressing up and hosting the water balloons fights at Halloween on Beal St. In his final few years following the passing of his beloved wife, he loved dancing with his best friend, Fran Goodman.

Arthur was preceded in death by his parents and by his wife, Patsy Heartfield. Two brothers, "Dude" Wallace and Larry Wallace, two grandsons, Brian and Brandon Loudin and one great grandchild, Kameron Turner. He is survived by three daughters, Judy Couch and husband Barry, Kathy Loudin and husband Ron, Tammy Randolph and husband, Randy. Five grandchildren, Brad Loudin, wife Tammy, Brant Couch and wife Danielle, Craig Couch and wife, Macee, Jason Randolph wife Jennifer, and Kristy Turner. Ten great grandchildren, Brittany and Austin Loudin, McKenna and Finley Couch, Harper and Cruz Couch, Ally Randolph, Karlee, Kole and Kory Turner.

There is hope and faith that this parting is not forever. By God's grace we will one day be reunited. For now, we will celebrate, laugh, and tell stories and share memories.

Thanks to the caregivers at Stoney Brook of Belton, Visiting Angels, Park Place Manor, Baylor-Scott and White and Compassus Hospice.

A private memorial service for Arthur was held at North Belton Cemetery.
