Helen Nadine (Kimber) Fritz, age 81 of Belton, previously of New Braunfels, passed away Saturday, September 18, 2021. Funeral services will be held at 10 am Saturday, October 2, 2021, at Harper-Talasek Funeral Home in Belton. Burial will follow at Greathouse Cemetery in Temple.
Helen was born on February 17, 1940, to Luis and Ruth (Woods) Kimber in Gonzalez, Texas. Helen worked hard in her life for what she had. She really enjoyed her job, before retirement, driving around the men for the railroad. Her favorite pastime as an adult was playing bingo or visiting with family and friends. When younger, she would often take her children, sisters, nieces, and nephews out for a day of fun at the Alamo, the missions, or the Zoo. Helen and Curtis had horses in their younger years and along with their children and family they enjoyed trail riding and camping. Her grandchildren recall her cooking skills at Thanksgiving and Christmas. Helen will be missed and continued to be loved dearly by all those she left.
Helen is preceded in death by her parents, Ruth and Luis Kimber; her loving husband of 56 years, Curtis Fritz; son, Jimmy Lape; brother, Ernest Jackson Kimber; and three sisters, Audrey and Elaine Kimber and Jonell Stearns.
Those left to honor and cherish her memories are her son, David Lape and wife, Pam; daughter, Bobbie “BJ” Henry and husband, Bobby; daughter, Nita Kessler and spouse, Darren Ninnemann; sister, Laverne Deuvall and husband, Tommy; and sister, Barbara Bradley and husband, James. Helen is also survived by her 8 grandchildren: Jennifer H., Marlin W., Jimmy H., Melissa R., Robert W., Bennie L., Breezy G., and Jessica H.; 22 great grandchildren; one great great granddaughter; and numerous nieces and nephews.
