Temple

Jack Ray Pabst Sr., age 90 of Temple, passed away Saturday, February 5, 2022, at a local nursing facility. Funeral services will be held at 2 pm Friday, February 11, 2022, at Harper-Talasek Funeral Home in Belton.

Jack was born on March 31, 1931, to Raymond & Birdie Mae (Talley) Pabst in Gonzales, Texas. He married Billie Jo Lemmons on June 15, 1951. Jack loved to fish and spend time with his family. He always had a good story to tell. He liked to travel, camp, and deer hunt. Jack ran a crane for many years and was really good at his job. Construction companies would call him when they started a new job to get him to come work for them. Jack had a very inquisitive mind. He wanted to know how things worked. He took apart our house phone once and wasn’t able to put it back together. Jack would make chili once a year. It was enough to feed the whole neighborhood and he would feed the entire street. He also greatly enjoyed being a shade tree mechanic. It made him happy to work with his hands.

Jack is preceded in death by his parents; and loving wife. He is also preceded by brothers, Charles “Buck” Pabst, and Clayton Pabst; sister, Vergie Mae Tweedle; and son, Steven Pabst.

Those left to honor his memory are his brother, Nolan Pabst of Lago Vista; sister, Irene Williamson of Marble Falls; son, Jack Pabst and wife, Wanda of Lockhart; son, Mike Pabst of Belton; daughter, Stacy Hrabal and husband, Tim of Lott; grandchildren, Shandy Pabst, Wandalyn Pabst, Billy Jack Pabst, Jacqalyn Deeds, Jennifer Richardson, Shanda Pabst, Coyie Elam, Candice Pabst, Dustin Hrabal, Josh Pabst, Colton Pabst, and Julie Hrabal; and great grandchildren, Blaze, Billie, Devan, Kaleb, Payton, Ashley, Lane, Brad, Breeley, Louis, Isaac, Morgan, Max, Parker, Emma, and Madolyn.

The family wishes to express a special thank you to the nursing staff at TLC East and the staff of Interim Hospice for their kindness and support throughout.
