James Curtis Fritz, age 81 of Belton, passed away Sunday, July 5, 2020 at his home. Graveside services will be held at 10 am Saturday, July 11, 2020 at Greathouse Cemetery in Temple.
James was born January 8, 1939 to Curtis Henry and Hazel Dean Mayes-Fritz in Temple, Texas. He attended Temple High School and then found his true passion, truck driving. He loved to drive a truck. He also enjoyed his motorcycles and especially being with his family. James had a great sense of humor and was always telling jokes. He always had a smile on his face, even when he was sick. He loved his family deeply and was a member of Miller Heights Baptist Church in Belton.
James is preceded in death by his step-son, Jimmy Lee Lape.
Those left to honor and cherish his memory are his wife, Helen Kimber Fritz; daughter, Sherry E. Fritz Josey; son, David A. Lape and wife, Pam; daughter, Bobbie Henry and husband, Bobby; daughter, Nita Kessler and Darren Ninneman; sister, Janice Robinson; brother, Steve McCall and wife, Dana; grandchildren, Jennifer Lynn Esparza, Marlin Wayne Webb, Jr., Jimmy Alan Henry, Melissa Ann Rollens, Robert Curtis Webb, Benny Lee Lape, McKinley Hernandez, Breezy Jenine Gonzales, Jessica Lynn Henry; 23 great-grandchildren; and many other family and friends. He will be greatly missed by all those who knew and loved him.
The family wishes to express a special thank you to the Home Health workers who were there to help him through this time and to hospice for getting to his side so quickly. Also a thank you is extended to Dr. E Don Parker for the care, love, and fellowship he had with Curtis. We love you all.
A time of visitation will be held from 4-6 pm Friday, July 10, 2020 at Harper-Talasek Funeral Home in Belton.
