Jimmy Thompson

Jimmy Thompson, age 83 of Belton, passed from this life Friday, December 23, 2022, at Baylor Scott & White Hospital in Temple. Graveside services will be held at 2 pm Friday, December 30, 2022, at North Belton Cemetery with Larry McDonald officiating.

Jimmy was born on September 11, 1939, to James and Hazel Thompson in Belton, Texas. He worked for Griggs Equipment for a few years. He then worked for Temple I.S.D. for about 20 years. After retirement, Jimmy built and was the sole owner and operator of J& B Oil Exchange for many years. He married Barbara Glass on January 30, 1959, in Cameron, Texas.

Jimmy is preceded in death by his two sons, Jimmy Thompson, and Dennis Thompson.

Survivors include his wife of 64 years, Barbara Thompson; daughter, Laura Valeriano and husband, Tony of Temple; brother, Bobby Thompson and wife, Linda of Temple; sister, Raythene Glover and husband, Russell of Nevada; three grandchildren; and three great grandchildren.

A time of visitation will be held from 5-7 pm Thursday, December 29, 2022, at Harper-Talasek Funeral Home in Belton.
