Myra Rourke, 79, of Belton, Texas passed away on Tuesday, November 15, 2022.  She was born on March 5, 1943, in Dothan, Alabama to Lou Mozell and Frank Dixon.  She married Peter F. Myra was a 35-year survivor of breast cancer, but she never let her cancer diagnosis slow her down.  She continued to be active in her grandchildren’s lives.  She was a remarkable woman, she loved her family, friends, and her church. Myra loved people and helping them, she worked her entire career in the retail industry, from the military bases PX to Dillards and finally a small gift shop in the Temple Mall; she just loved helping people.

She is survived by her five children: Peter Rourke III (Sharon), Myra Hamilton (Dale), Patricia Wheeler, Patrick Rourke (Sandra) and Marie Lancaster (Rob), as well as her sister Virginia (Jenny) Gaither.  She was the proud grandmother of ten: Craig Rourke (Bri), Shaun Hamilton (Margarita), Megan Gibbs (Kenny), Michael Rourke (Taylor), Jason Rourke (Megan), Grant Wheeler, Alyssa Wheeler, Kristi St. Clair, Jami Wallace (Russell) and Kaci Lee. She was also the proud great-grandmother of fourteen: Genesis Gudino, Gabriele Hamilton, Beckett Rourke, Kaitlyn St. Clair, Pierson St. Clair, Kyli St. Clair, Kash Campbell, Trey Wallace, Cooper Wallace, William Wallace, Waylon Wallace, Konner Lee, Keller Lee and Baker Patrick York and the great-great grandmother of Luka Silva.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Peter F. Rourke Jr., her great grandson, Hudson Gibbs and her parents Lou Mozelle and Tom Walker and her paternal father Frank Dixon.
