Thurman "Buster" Dossey

Thurman “Buster” Wesley Dossey, 86 of Moody, passed away Sunday, March 5, 2023, at Regency Manor Nursing Facility in Temple. Burial will be held on Saturday, March 11, 2023, at North Belton Cemetery.

Buster was born on July 1, 1936, to Weldon “Fuzzy” and Ollie (Bruton) Dossey in Gatesville, Texas. He was employed by Leon River Turkey Farms, and Chafin Enterprises Turkey Farm. Buster loved his dogs. He liked to listen to country music, watch old western movies, enjoyed camping, and often spent time around the Bar-B-Que and in the garden. He was a family man, and he treasured the time he spent with family and friends on the farm.

Buster is preceded in death by his parents; brothers, Tom Dossey, Johnnie Lee “John Lee” Dossey, George Dossey, W.A. Dossey, and William “Jim” Dossey; and sisters, Lois Dossey Hill, and Saralyn Dossey Housman.

He is survived by his sisters, Shirley Dossey Hall, and Mirtes Marie Dossey Emmons; and although they were not his children, Cecilia Bell, Shannon Guthrie, Melissa Guthrie, Tracy Guthrie, and Crystal Guthrie, all loved him like he was their Papa.

The family wishes to extend a special thank you to Johnnie and Sadie Dossey, his caregivers, and to Billy, Cecilia, Trey and Brandon Bell for their love and support.
